And a wake up and we are out of here! These final 2 weeks have been about finishing up the last of doc/dental appointments and visiting friends. Irie, the dog, goes in for her dental on Thursday...sure hope her breath smells better! :0) Now, we need to get things put away in a secure fashion......we've been in one spot so long things have gotten pulled out and not put away. Something was rolling back and forth the last trip (for the radio) and that's no good.
We got the new Sirius radio put in this week and that will be nice.As you may recall, we were down to my iPod and the inverter on our way here. We really love having music while we travel.
Really looking forward to seeing my baby brother and his family in the spring and before that, we'll see Sean (Alan's youngest) and his family in Texas. Bummed I never saw my other brother and his wife. I was really hoping to introduce my wonderful almost daughter in law to them. Next year, I think we'll camp in front of their house!!
Irie is so funny!! There are two yellow labs that drag their owners thru the park two times a day. The people in this park are mostly all upwards of 75 or so. It's often funny to watch them out there. The one couple just got a lab puppy, too! The old guy walks with a walking stick and we have seen the dogs pull right out of his hands. Thank God, he knows to let go or he'd go down for sure! Anyway, back to Irie.....she "knows" when those labs go by. She's kind of a bitchy dog by nature, but she growls the whole time! When we first got here, she wanted to say hi to the adult lab, but when it got close and towered over her, I think it scared her. And it's a shame, cuz, you know labs, they are usually really friendly and they could have had fun. I did take Irie up to the house to see Monty (our old DobieX) and they had a ball running full speed around the house! The running is what Irie misses...she just can't here in the park and so, like the rest of us, she's gaining weight.
I have found we have eaten out a lot, seeing friends or the rig is being worked on. But we have all gained or not lost any weight. I have us all on Weight Watchers and I haven't gained back the nearly 20#s I lost, but I sure haven't lost any either!! Once back out on the road, I think it will be easier. No one to blame but ourselves!
Follow us as we travel with Lisa and a dog in an RV! We are going to check out every inch of the good ole USA!

Camping World and Blinds
Took off a few days ago for the Camping World "campground" LOL....it's really just their busy parking lot next to a busier Hwy. 80. Found what looked to be the last spot big enuff for the Magic Bus", pulled in blocking an entire lane so we could unhook the truck. We both jumped out and disconnected as quickly as possible and Alan parked the truck, came back and directed my backing into our slot. Cool...no problem at all. Got set up with slides out and AC on (running the generator) CW was to do some annual maintenance check ups, plus a check our Even Brake to see why we kept blowing fuses. Came back with a pretty clean report. A regulator is going on out our LP (not dangerous and needs to be emptied before they can do it and since we have 3/4 tank propane, well do this later). The Even Brake is the system that brakes for the car and it's compressor was faulty so they gave us a new one. We have been very happy with this Camping World. They are very fair and really aware of customer satisfaction. I wish they were all this good.
Next stop was Blind Magic to get 3 blinds repaired. Piece of cake getting there, but once there parking was very limited. I had asked them about that and was told it was "no problem".....uh huh, sure! They obviously don't drive 55' of RV and Car!! Anyway, we were early, so we called Linda (Lisa's sis) to come down. We were close to them and she came with Paul and the 2 great grandkids....so nice to visit with them!! Once the guy arrived from lunch we were able to leave and spend even more time with them, too. But before we left, I asked the guy if he would like us to leave the generator/AC on and he said, "No, I'll be fine". I know he wished he hadn't said that cuz it was 99 in here when we returned to pick it up. Poor guy!! Sure nice to have the blinds working!!
So, off we went to come home.....kinda hurrying along because it was getting dark and Alan was worried about backing in in the dark. I was more sure we'd be fine, but that's me.....annoyingly optimistic! LOL!! On the way, tho , the BRAND NEW Even Brake started beeping that something was loose, so Alan pulled over and we ran back to check everything. Weird.....everything was connected properly. We couldn't figure out what went wrong, so Alan suggested we try again. Hadn't gone more than a couple of miles and it started up again, so Alan disconnected it saying "he'd call CW tomorrow". (We don't have to have the braking system, but it sure is nice. )
So off we went for home and pulled in to Rebel Ridge parking lot to disconnect the truck and switch drivers. It was getting fairly dark, but we were fine. Once I put the Magic Bus in reverse, we had all kinds of light and Alan once again directed me in with precision. We have docking lights on the side for hooking up to power, water and sewer, so there was plenty of light for Alan to do that while I dumped the air, put down the jacks and generally got the inside ready to level the bus and put the slides out. We really are becoming a great team and things that 5 months ago made me nervous, no longer do.
The weather is starting to change here in CVille, we are nearing the end of our time and suddenly it feels like I haven't seen enuff of our friends and family. We won't be back for a year and I am of two minds about that. One side of me really doesn't want to leave while the gypsy in me can't wait. I love this new life of our's, but my family and friends come first for me above all else. I take solace knowing we'll be back.
I have been getting tons of migraines, too. YUCK!! VERY sick of feeling sick and tired between the Fibromyalgia pain and insomnia and the migraines.....I feel like I"m in a vicious circle...if I don't sleep, then I get a migraine and my chronic pain is awful, but I don't sleep because of my migraines and Fibro and round and round we go....ok, enuff complaining...
